Andy Kaufman To Come Back From The Dead This Weekend?
This Sunday, May 16, 2004 is the 20th anniversary of the death of infamous comedian Andy Kaufman. Although Andy was known mainly for portraying Latka on the sitcom "Taxi," he also did more than most to blur or destroy the line between fantasy and reality with his extracurricular activities, such as when he westled Jerry "The King" Lawler in Memphis.
One thing that Andy Kaufman had mentioned doing was faking his own death and returning, so when he was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1983, many people thought he was faking it. So on the anniversary of his death, there is a show at the House of Blues in Los Angeles which will feature Tony Clifton, one of his alter egos and many of his closest friends. Will Andy reappear?
