Berg, Al Qaeda linked before
from New York Daily News
In a bizarre coincidence, Nick Berg crossed paths with Al Qaeda years before its henchmen beheaded him, when his E-mail and password wound up in the hands of 9/11 suspect Zacarias Moussaoui.
It happened in 1999, when Berg was at the University of Oklahoma and Moussaoui was enrolled at a nearby flight school, allegedly training to be an Al Qaeda hijacker.
After Moussaoui came under scrutiny in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, the FBI discovered he had Berg's university E-mail password.
"In 2002, the FBI was following millions of leads in the wake of 9/11, and one led to Mr. Berg," said a senior Justice Department official.
After questioning Berg about the tie, the feds concluded he had never actually met Moussaoui, who had friends and roommates at the same college.
The matter remained closed until Berg's ill-fated visit to Iraq this year.
When he was detained by authorities in Mosul in March, FBI agents came to grill Berg, and he volunteered details about his previous dealings with the bureau, the official said.
But the eerie link between Berg and the terrorist cabal that later decapitated him "turned out to be total coincidence," the official said.
Break out the tinfoil hats.

I just watched the Berg decapitation film. It looks like a bad snuff film. Did anyone else notice the discontinuity in the timeline in the clip? About the time they push him over to cut off his head, the time stamp jumps from around 2:45 to about 13:45.
For the video:

This hole thing seems awfully fishy.

More fuel for the fire:
Prometheus Methods Tower Services Inc., the business that cost Nick Berg his life in Iraq, has no records with the Pennsylvania Department of State.
Or anywhere else that I can find.

I won't watch it because I don't believe it's real. I've seen wag the dog.

(FYI - The link is down) I have a number of problems with this, not the least of which is the certainty of the identity of the killer, al-Zarqawi ... I mean come on he has a hood on ... isn't that the point of the hood, it could be anyone. There are 6 Billion people on the planet, I'm suppose to believe the US government knows the sound of everyone of their individual voices. Not likely.
My other problem is obviously with the timing coming after the prison abuse scandel. Not just the convinience of it, but more the call from American and media outlets "If we are going to get flak for what we are doing, show what they are doing to American's" in the days, if not mere hours prior to the release of this video. An article of that nature was on the cover of the USA today on tuesday morning and by Tuesday afternoon, this was story was breaking news, though his body was reportedly found Saturday.
The killing and dismemberment and stringing up of American is Fallujah was very real ... the killing of reporter Daniel Pearl last year was very real ... this one seems very very hard to believe. Why is that? I hate to sound so cynical. There very well may the body of Nick Berg somewhere without a head but there is clearly something wrong with this story. Too many people think so for them all to be wrong. Some are going so far as to say that the US may have even had a hand in Berg's death and as it has certainly helped the administration with damage control over the prison scandel I am hard pressed to rule it out.
