Christopher Hitchens: Calling Out the Left
from Slate

Christopher Hitchens has been favorably reviewed in the pages of the Athenaeum on multiple occasions. He seems to be one of the few journalists covering the whole 9/11AfghanistanIraq proceedings who is willing to look at it in a broader context and ask the tough questions. Although he has been identified as a leftist for many years, Hitchens has long warned against the rise of "Islamic facism" and sees the necessity for seeing this campaign through. In his latest piece for Slate, entitled "Losing the Iraq War: Can the left really want us to?" Hitchens wonders: "Do they suppose that a defeat in Iraq would be a defeat only for the Bush administration?" He also asks why so few of the non-profit aid groups in America are trying to help out the Iraqis. A great article, and well worth a read.

If you want more where that came from, I suggest checking out The Christopher Hitchens Web, a clearinghouse for the many articles he publishes on a regular basis.
